Product Development Bookshelf
I strongly believe that every engineering manager should have a solid grasp of product management. It’s not about doing the PM’s job, but rather using that knowledge to serve as a better bridge between the technical team and product strategy. Understanding product management helps in setting the right priorities, grasping customer needs, and making decisions that benefit the whole team.
The bookshelves usually lack any particular order, and so does this list:
- Measure What Matters by John Doerr
- Crossing the Chasm by Geoffrey A. Moore
- Monetizing Innovation by Madhavan Ramanujam and Georg Tacke
- Escaping the Build Trap by Melissa Perri
- The Mom Test by Rob Fitzpatrick
- Inspired by Marty Cagan
- Product Management in Practice by Matt LeMay
